You’ve probably all been looking for lingerie – and just how do you decide? Hot, silky, risqué, trashy, elegant, sexy, exotic, and yet alluring? Maybe you’ve already looked at some web sites and just aren’t sure if what you’re buying. Is there a difference?

Debunking the myth
First of all, let’s dispel the commonplace idea that trashy equals bad. It can be cheap, or it can be expensive –the thing is, it LOOKS cheap! To put it bluntly, there’s not much material involved! It simply leaves nothing much to the imagination, and makes a pretty blatant statement about your availability, sexually! Think of creating a street hooker look – for that you want trashy, not exotic.
Let’s start with what you could include in this category. This can mean things that reveal a lot - everything from peek a boo bras and g-strings to crotch-less panties and fishnet anything, in fact. The object of this is to show off what you’ve got! Or, it can mean cheap material, tasteless glittery or shiny material, garments that scream “no taste”. NOT the sort of thing your family buys you for Christmas… You could also include something like a body stocking that shows everything underneath, on full view, but puts it just out of reach of a partner.
Of course, less is definitely more with trashy lingerie. You can even leave the lingerie on all throughout your activities, because there isn’t much getting in your way (and if it does, rip it off!) It can definitely be called the dirty side of lingerie--just enough to look pretty or sexy, but then little is all it needs to call upon the spark of animal lust and desire. A little really does go a long way… It conjures up the seamier, seedier side of sex – hookers, dark alleys, sweaty dancefloors… It says “I want it!”
But it’s not the way that everyone wants to go. Some gals (and guys) want something a little less instant and available, and little more drawn out.
Exotic, but not innocent
On the opposite side of a very short spectrum is exotic lingerie. Now the first thing that may come into your mind with the word ‘exotic’ is a woman – alluring, tempting, enticing. Not showing as much skin. They’re just teasing away with what they aren’t revealing.
Exotic lingerie is a bit more demure. Think about teddies, lace, and tight boxer shorts. While you might be able to see the outline of things to come, exotic lingerie covers enough of it up so that the imagination can race with desire. More tantalizing… Think about fine quality material, lingerie that LOOKS expensive (whether or not it is) and tasteful. Think silk, rather than satin. Lace rather than rubber. Leather rather than plastic.
You might try something like a bustier or a corset to cover up the breasts just enough. Think of yourself as a Christmas present that needs to be unwrapped. It just wouldn’t be as exciting without the wrapping in the way.
Where to wear
Let’s talk about where you can wear lingerie. Lingerie of any type is always fun in the bedroom, but why stop there?
If you’re looking to keep your date on the edge of his or her seat, why not find ways to incorporate your lingerie into your outfit? For trashy lingerie, you could put really explicit underwear underneath something more conservative. Just make sure that your date knows that it’s all you are wearing and that the slightest movement might reveal something special. Or keep it to yourself and savior the way it makes you feel. Respectable on the outside, hooker on the inside!
Or, you can go with some exotic lingerie and wear some pieces as actual parts of your outfit. Corsets and bustiers are coming right back into vogue, so why not find a way to tantalize your lover WITHOUT looking cheap?
